A recent Politico Magazine/Ipsos poll reveals that a majority of Americans believe former President Trump should face trial before the 2024 Republican primaries and presidential election. Trump, currently facing charges related to falsifying business records and mishandling classified documents, is under the public eye.

2️⃣ Party Lines Drawn: The poll shows a clear divergence in views based on political affiliation. A whopping 77% of Democrats believe Trump should be tried before the Republican primaries, and 86% think the trial should happen before the presidential election. However, less than half of Republicans agree with these sentiments.

3️⃣ Independent Thoughts: Among independents, 47% believe the trial should start before the GOP primaries.

4️⃣ Guilty or Not? The jury is still out among the public. Around half of all respondents believe Trump is guilty of the charges he faces in both the New York and federal cases. However, a third don't think the former president is guilty in either case.
